LI-8100 Long-Term Chambers Suggested End-of-Season Maintenance

Before beginning a new field season, some routine LI-8100 chamber maintenance should be performed by the user. A few simple procedures can be used to inspect and clean the chamber, and replace any damaged components. Most materials needed for replacement are included in the Spare Parts Kit that was shipped with the chamber. Spare parts such as gaskets, tubing, cables, and hardware are also available for purchase from LI-COR. We encourage customers to perform routine chamber maintenance, thereby avoiding unnecessary expenses incurred by sending the chamber to LI-COR for maintenance. However, service is available at LI-COR should you find a structural or mechanical problem with the chamber. 8100-101 Long-Term Chamber Maintenance and Check-up Procedures

1. Replace convoluted (black sheath) and Bev-a-Line tubing if damaged.
2. Replace chamber gaskets (included in 8100-612 Gasket Kit).
3. Make sure the vent opening is free of dirt and debris.
4. Clean the chamber, especially in areas where the chamber bowl contacts the base plate.
5. Confirm that the chamber movement is smooth and at a uniform speed.
6. Check the reported chamber temperature in software to make sure the thermistor is reading properly.

8100-104 Long-Term Chamber Maintenance and Check-up Procedures
